Cut a corner off a rectangle and you get the tarch — a shape that clears the sword arm while still covering the body. The tarch punch shield hoplite helmet carries that geometry with a Spartan hoplite helm printed across the face, and it is sized so the shield protects the elbow joint too, not just the torso.
Special strap geometry gives the firm grip a punching shield needs; without it, striking with the shield simply twists it on the arm. A plastic insert inside handles edge hits, and the outer material washes clean. It measures 57 × 34 cm at 5 cm thick and 0.890 kg (1.92 lbs), aimed at buhurt and pro fight categories. Default colours are blue, red and black, with custom designs on request.
