Our soft shields are made for fighters who want to hold the line and still move freely across the field. This collection runs from a 35 cm buckler you can flick around at fencing speed to a 70 cm siege shield that covers you from shoulder to knee. Almost everything here is a foam body over a plastic insert, wrapped in durable material you can wash after a muddy tournament. Round, heater, kite, oval, trapeze, pavise and umbo shapes all sit here, along with printed designs and lighter builds for children. Whether you train HMB, buhurt, LARP or soft sword sparring, you'll find a shape that suits your stance and your weapon hand. How to Choose Shields
Start with your discipline. Fencing categories reward a small, quick piece. The buckler shield measures 35 by 35 cm and weighs about 0.950 kg, so your arm stays fresh through a long bracket, and the buckler mini and the hard-handle buckler move quicker still. Buhurt and pro fights reward reach and mass. The punch pavise shield runs 65 cm long by 34 cm wide with a 15 cm impact edge and three handles, while the massive round shield and the siege shield, at 48 by 70 cm and 1.2 kg, give you a wide wall to work behind. Then look at the shape. Round shields hold a 50 cm diameter at about 0.995 kg, which many fighters treat as the all-round starting point. The heater shield measures 50 cm across and 63 cm tall for fuller coverage. The kite shield is 36 by 55 cm at 0.700 kg and favors punching work. The soft shield boss, or umbo, is a 50 cm dome at 1.1 kg that deflects and strikes with equal ease. Check the build last. Most models use durable washable material over a plastic insert that keeps the edge firm through heavy contact. The plastic round shield takes its own path with a 5 mm ABS body, a 57 cm diameter and 1.3 kg, in black, gray or white. Straps adjust to your forearm and palm, so the fit follows your arm. Younger fighters have the heater shield for kids, and you can find more shields for kids and age-appropriate gear in the children's range.
